Newsletter April 2007
Over the last 12 years as a School Principal I have experienced great change in the area of School Accountability and compliance . The development of greater threats of litigation has caused all good schools to review policies and processes in all areas of school management. Hence the Principal's role as Chief Executive has been broadened to take overall responsibility for critical areas of Risk Management and Compliance.
This is a significant area for extensive co-operative work between Board, Management and all school staff as clear policies are devised and implemented across each and every area of school life.
Whilst President of AHIGS (NSW) the Executive worked to review all areas of compliance across AHIGS (NSW) and or Sporting Association IGSSA. The organisation was rewarded in 2006 by receipt of the NSW Schools Safety Award - the Gold Medal for Outstanding Sports Organisation and for adopting Safe Sporting Practice at State level.
I would be willing to assist any school in reviewing current policies and in developing new policies, in servicing school staff in all areas of compliance.

"Margaret Hadley joined AHIGS (Association of Heads of Independent Girls' Schools NSW) in 1995. A keen sportswoman, she joined the Association's specialist sports committee in 1998, making a significant contribution to IGSSA Sport including the IGSSA Review, the IGSSA Code of Conduct and the Representative Selection Policy.
In 2000 Margaret became a member of the AHIGS Executive Committee and also a Vice President of the Association. In 2002 she began a 2 year term as President. During her Presidency Margaret oversaw the appointment of an Executive Officer, the acquisition of permanent premises for AHIGS, the centralisation of AHIGS' finances and a legal review of the Association's operations. When Margaret stepped down as President in early 2004, she became the Treasurer of AHIGS, a position she retained until her resignation in early 2007.
Margaret Hadley played a central role in AHIGS during an important period in its development. Her leadership and vision enabled the Association to achieve a new level of professionalism and efficiency on which future office bearers could build. She will be sadly missed by her colleagues who have valued not only Margaret's dedication and drive, but also her friendship and support."
